Solar Newcastle

There are a few incentives available in Newcastle to encourage the adoption of solar panels. These include:

• The Federal Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES): This provides financial incentives through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). Based on the system size these provide cash back at the time of installation.
• State-specific programs: The New South Wales Government is offering a solar Battery Rebate of up to $2,400 for the installation of new solar batteries.
• Feed-in Tariffs: Your energy company need to offer a feed-in tariffs for excess electricity generated by your solar system and exported to the grid.

When installing solar power in Newcastle, there are several regulations and restrictions to consider, but LuvSolar has you covered on these:

• Council approval: Generally, most residential solar installations do not require council approval, but it’s advisable to check with the local council for any specific requirements or heritage restrictions.

• Electrical standards: Installations must comply with Australian electrical standards and the National Construction Code which includes wind loading standards. LuvSolar only installs mounting systems with valid certificates of compliance for wind loading, and will provide you with a certificate of compliance for electrical work after completion of your installation.
• Installer Accreditation: Ensure your installer is accredited by the Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) to qualify for rebates and incentives. All LuvSolar installers are SAA accredited.
• Grid Connection Approval: You need approval from Ausgrid to connect your solar system to the grid. LuvSolar will handle this as part of your ord

Yes, solar power is absolutely worth it in Newcastle due to several factors:

• High solar irradiance: Newcastle receives a good amount of sunlight throughout the year, making solar power generation efficient and productive.
• Electricity savings: Reducing your reliance on grid electricity can lead to significant savings on your electricity bills.
• Government incentives: These reduce the upfront cost, making the investment more attractive.

The ROI for solar power systems in Newcastle varies based on several factors, including system size, electricity usage, and available incentives. Generally, you can expect for a 6kW system:

• Payback period: Between 3 to 7 years.
• Annual savings: Approximately $900 to $2,200 depending on your household electricity usage.
• ROI: Typically, the ROI ranges from 15% to 25% annually.

Solar panels reduce carbon emissions by generating electricity from a renewable source. Every kWh that your solar generates is used by you or provided to the grid. That is one less unit of energy demand that needs to be satisfied by local coal power stations such as Vales Point and Eraring.  Key benefits include:

• Reduced reliance on fossil fuels**: Decreases the need for coal and gas-fired power plants.
• Lower greenhouse gas emissions**: Each kWh of solar power reduces emissions that would otherwise be produced by fossil fuel generation.

The cost of installing solar panels in Newcastle varies based on system size, installation complexity and equipment selection. Although on average you can expect the following price ranges:

• 3kW system: Approximately $3,000 to $4,000.
• 6kW system: Approximately $4,000 to $8,000.
• 10kW system: Approximately $8,000 to $11,000.
